Philosophy
StartupZone holds the privacy and security of our site visitors
and members in the highest regard. The following information explains
what kind of information is gathered on our site and how that information
is used.
We can be reached via email at startupzone at g mail dot com. Please bring
to our attention any instance where you feel these policies have been
violated.
What's collected and what's not?
You can visit the public parts of our site without telling us
who you are or revealing any personal information. While IP addresses
(the Internet address of a computer) are logged to track a user's session,
the user remains anonymous. Tracking IP addresses gives us an idea of
which parts of our site users are visiting and how long they spend there.
We do not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable. This
means that a user's session is tracked, but the user is anonymous. The
user's browser also lets us know the type of computer and operating system
being used.
In order to access certain subscriber services and restricted areas (the
"Restricted Services") within StartupZone, we require that you
provide certain identifying information and personal data (the "Registration
Data") listed in the online registration forms. StartupZone
reserves the right to request any additional information necessary to
establish and maintain your account for use of the Restricted Services.
The Restricted Services within StartupZone can be found in the following
areas: "General Users," "Startup Companies," "Job
Seekers", and "B2B vendors". As these Restricted Areas
are members-only, password-protected Web site areas , naturally, we will
know who those visitors are.
We capture the email addresses of only those public site visitors who
sign up for one or more of our subscriptions.
How is email information used?
Email addresses are used by StartupZone to send email for the following
purposes: (1) to send Subscriptions to users who have requested
that service; (2) to send an initial, one time greeting to each new member;
and (3) to send promotional materials to members who have opted-in for
such notifications as part of the registration process. We do not
sell, rent, or loan our email lists to outside firms.
How do I remove my name from mailing lists to which I previously
subscribed?
If you do not wish to receive any special offers or communications from
StartupZone, you have the right to select the "opt out" option
during the registration process or at any time afterwards. You may
"opt out" by clicking on Subscriptions in our Registration page
or Member login page and placing the appropriate check in the box entitled
"I would like to subscribe to StartupZone Newsletter." and/or
"I would like to subscribe to StartupZone Promotional E-mail".
Uses of Registration Data
All submitted information including any resumes, personal information,
or other data which you post to or transmit through StartupZone site by
email or otherwise are and will be treated as non-proprietary and non-confidential.

Your Resume
Since StartupZone is a career site, we give you the option of
placing your resume in our database. There are two ways of doing this:
1) Private feature: You can store your resume in our database, but not
allow it to be searchable by potential employers. If you do not allow
your resume to be searchable, you can use your resume to apply for a job
online but employers will not have access to it through a search of our
resume database
2) Public feature: If you allow your resume to be searchable, then all
employers and recruiters who pay for access to our resume database will
have access to your resume. We use our efforts to grant access to this
database only to paying employers, hiring managers, human resource professionals,
and selected recruiters, but we cannot guarantee that other parties will
not, without our consent, gain access to this database. You may remove
your resume from our searchable database at any time. However, employers
and recruiters who have paid for access to the database, and other parties
who have otherwise gained access to the database, may have retained a
copy of your resume in their own files or databases. We are not responsible
for the retention, use, or privacy of resumes in these instances, or for
the use or privacy of resumes by any of such parties while resumes are
in the database.
In both cases, StartupZone may collect Registration Data for use in connection
with its operation of an executive search consultancy for senior management
professionals and technical professionals. StartupZone may release Registration
Data protected by Your User ID and password to StartupZone clients such
as potential employers or other third parties such as StartupZone business
partners only with your express consent, unless releasing such information
is otherwise required by applicable law, statute, regulation, ordinance,
or court order. Where StartupZone does release Your Registration Data
to StartupZone clients or business partners, StartupZone will first require
them to agree to use such Registration Data in accordance with this Privacy
Policy and only for the purposes for which it was collected.
Cookies
To enhance your experience at StartupZone, we use a feature on
your Internet browser called a "cookie". Cookies are small files
that your Web browser places on your computer's hard drive. We use cookies
for remembering user names and passwords. You have the option of setting
your browser to reject cookies. This policy does not cover the use of cookies
by any third-party advertisers whose banner ads appear on this site. StartupZone
does not have direct control over or access to any information collected
via such banner ads.
What levels of security does StartupZone have?
The Restricted Services are available to only our members, and are password
protected.
StartupZone encrypts your credit card number prior to transmission over
the Internet using secure socket layer (SSL) encryption technology, which
provides data encryption, server authentication, and message integrity.

concern sending certain information over the Internet should use one of
the three alternative methods of: phone number, fax, or postal mail.
